Our campus – formally recognized as an arboretum – is home to more than 1,000 trees from more than 120 different species.
Less than one mile from campus lies the Spalding Conservancy, a 50-acre, urban conservancy that is available for academic exploration and personal recreation.
F&M’s greenhouse teaches students how to plant, water, fertilize, trim, transplant, and assist in pest control of a variety of plants. Many of these plants are used in F&M courses, but some are also used to enliven College events, such as Commencement.
Environmental sustainability is woven into everyday life throughout campus, from the buildings students live in to the food they eat in the dining hall.
Generations of Diplomats recognize the Protest Tree, an enduring F&M tradition.
