• Our campus – formally recognized as an arboretum – is home to more than 1,000 trees from more than 120 different species.
  • Less than one mile from campus lies the Spalding Conservancy, a 50-acre, urban conservancy that is available for academic exploration and personal recreation.
  • F&M’s greenhouse teaches students how to plant, water, fertilize, trim, transplant, and assist in pest control of a variety of plants. Many of these plants are used in F&M courses, but some are also used to enliven College events, such as Commencement.
  • Environmental sustainability is woven into everyday life throughout campus, from the buildings students live in to the food they eat in the dining hall.
  • Generations of Diplomats recognize the Protest Tree, an enduring F&M tradition.
